Hey Hey Hey

wait, what is this thing called again?
 
oh right, a blog.
 
Y'all, its been SO long.
my apologies.
 
Life is insane as always and
several times I have sat down at my sweet little desk
to write what was on my heart and I just stared at the
screen and didn't even have the words.
 
However, today the Lord showed me something
and suddenly all the blur of the last few months came
very clearly into focus.
 
 
the last few months have been some of the hardest, trying
times of my life, yet some of the most incredible moments
seeking the Lord and reaping the joy of trusting Him in every circumstance.
 
 
2016 has been a train-wreck but when I get to the end of some days
and get back on the tracks and see the light peaking through the end
of the tunnel, it's like my personal rainbow from the Lord
knowing His promises still ring true and He is always there
to guide me.
 
today, I came across this quote of pure gold from CS Lewis
and suddenly, it all made sense.
 
we were never called to live a life free of hard times,
we all wish we had a life free of difficulty
 
but the difference is, in our difficulties when everything is
chaotic and up in the air
HE is our rock, He is our peace, He holds it all together.
 
I know my words are probably not new to anyone but
they are exactly what He told me to tell you
so maybe, just maybe someone needed to hear that today
just like I did.
 
Instead of praying to be immune to the hiccups in life
face them boldly with Him at the wheel, because He is the ultimate
Peace maker.

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. Waiting for graduation, waiting to know what the rest of my life is going to look like, waiting on contract updates and internship approvals, waiting on interviews, Creation studies to END (forever and ever amen), leases to run out, May to arrive and my next chapter to begin. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
