Takin' it back!

This week i started an internship at the Elementary school nearby. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I am really interested in 1st grade but i was given a kindergarten classroom. The teacher i'm with is so nice. the kids are too cute and i really enjoy going. Every day when i get there we pick up the kids from specials and get started on our journals. Once the kids write them, sound out their words, draw their pictures and share we move on to Star Kids, which is a reading program. The kids have so much fun and today after leading them in the activities i was so proud of myself that i managed to do so i took some pictures of the kids working and my example on the board.
We had to pick the correct letters and sounds and then color code the Lions beds. They go with a theme. And ironically this week's girl is Lily Ping who is chinese and has pet lions. lol




this little dapper dude. is a rascal but i do love him. I've considered stealing him every day. He always gives me a BIG hug and when i asked him to look up he smiled so big. He doesn't behave at all for the teacher so i think she appreciates he loves me just as much as i adore him.

So Kindergarten is great but i think im sticking with 1st grade! This experience is so fun! I can't wait to start teaching. and next week since i don't have exams im going to get to spend a FULL school day with them for 4 days in a row instead of only an hour a day. SO excited. Will take more pics of our activities!!

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. Waiting for graduation, waiting to know what the rest of my life is going to look like, waiting on contract updates and internship approvals, waiting on interviews, Creation studies to END (forever and ever amen), leases to run out, May to arrive and my next chapter to begin. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
