GO unto all the nations..
Over the summer as i sat on the beach with my toes in the sand and read a book by David Platt.
"Radical". As i read the pages the words touched me. Radical Christianity. To step out, give up everything we have and live for Christ. How awesome!
As i read from chapter to chapter there was a particular few sentences that JUMPED off the page at me. If i remember anything i remember word for word what that page said.
"God has commanded us to go unto all the nations and PROCLAIM the gospel. Not to donate, or watch homecoming videos and smile at the cute pictures and go home to same."
Wow.
How powerful. It was not a suggestion it was commanded.
GO to all the nations, and proclaim MY word.
I sat for months and prayed about it, my best friend went to Africa, how AWESOME but God said no. My mom went to India, what about there god. Nope. You stay here Austyn. Alright god, Kenya next summer? No.
I was at the point of tears, I wanted SO bad to just go and love on people and show them God's love. but no Austyn not now. I remainded persistant. I knew that continuous prayer would lead to an answer.
After a lot of things happened this summer i continued to be prayerful. My Senior year of high school, alot to focus on for the future and maybe God is right, its just not in the book right now for me to take time, go across the world and share his word when i can share his word RIGHT HERE.
I kind of just let it roll off. Discouraged but hopeful. All these oppurtunities, but no. As i witnessed to my friend and she became saved i kept praying and last week i was invited to yet another missions trip.
Reminding myself of this verse, remaining in prayer and trusting that he would reveal his wishes to me.
He has the ENTIRE world in his hands, and yet even though im an ant on the map, he knows JUST what he wants from me.
As i continued to pray i felt the Lord say to me.
"GO Austyn, GO! This is the one!"
Almost in tears then and even now i am overwhelmingly blessed to tell y'all that Austyn is going to..
COSTA RICA!!!!
And while the beaches are beautiful and we will drive on dirt roads past many of them..
I am ecstatic to get to spend a week in Costa Rica and love on the children of God and show them the Love he has for them!
My favorite verse says:
"Remain faithful in times of trouble and never cease praying"
Romans 12:12
How true, how true!!
I ask that you will pray for me and guidance as God leads me down this road to this one of MANY nations.
And if you feel led by God to help me out financially, i will provide more info on that later!
Thanks for being such a great support system!
-Austyn :)
