Truly.

Oh hey there, i haven't abandoned you. Life's just been SO crazy but ya know I've been thinking...
 
throughout moving to an entire new city, having to reattach myself into the swing of things, meet new people and make new friends..
what truly are friends?
 
Today in our society a friend is just a title. But God's word says clearly..
 
A friend loves at ALL times.
Proverbs 17:17
 
No great love hath one who lays down his life for his friends.
John 15:13

or my favorite:
 
MANY friends may come to ruin, but a TRUE friend will stick closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24

 
Lately, i've just found this to be so true.
Through life we have SO many friends, and we love them all but in the past 3 months i've seen more of this verse come alive than i have EVER seen before.

.

God has taken my heart and just squeezed it these last months. As if to say..
"Austyn, why are you so concerned with these small details, follow ME, I can control ALL things"

and He can, my goodness can he handle my problems big or small.


Friends old, new and future are so so wonderful. But our God is in control and he always provides comfort, love and support when we need it. Greater than any friend we could ever have. Our FATHER.
 
Many of my friends from Jville have just become another name on facebook but ya know, I've been constant in prayer about it and even today a girl from my new school tweeted me
"Hey, you seem really nice, come join me for lunch tommorow, i'd LOVE to get to know you!"
How precious!
 
God is so so good! All the time!
 
Speaking of his goodness and FAITHfulness if you haven't seen my 400 million posts about it.
 
For the past 3 or 4 years i've prayed for a specific friend, in fact the only one from Jville i still talk to often. She proclaimed to be an athiest. Our friendship suffered. I begged God to help me understand how to love her if she didnt love HIM. Through the years we made no progression but recently she took interest, thats a whole other story but my dear friend and me talked for DAYS every second of the day about God, his love, his plan for her life and his word. And this past Friday. {quite possibly the greatest day of my life} My dear sweet friend, came to Christ.

What a proud friend and sister i am of her and her decision to take up her cross and follow HIM.

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. Waiting for graduation, waiting to know what the rest of my life is going to look like, waiting on contract updates and internship approvals, waiting on interviews, Creation studies to END (forever and ever amen), leases to run out, May to arrive and my next chapter to begin. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
