Father to the Fatherless
As I sat in church on Sunday, the Lord did a work in me.
Anytime the sermon is on Adoption, I get chills.
But this week my heart was shattered, I was shaken out of my seat.
I was so so broken. and burdened to move.
Realizing, that for the 6 years of having this sweet boy in our family that I have thought my job was done. I had rescued an orphan, helped the least of these. the end.
Instead, my job is not done but it has just begun.
There are 120,000 orphans in the USA alone.
if one in every 1300 people who profess to be a Christian
would do just as the word directs us to, and love the least of these.
There would be NO orphans in the United States.
If that doesn't get you, I'm not sure what will.
We are called, as doers of the word to follow as the Lord leads.
To go to all the nations, even our own and love the least of these.
God is the Father to the Fatherless.
They all need a heavenly father, but they just as well need an early mother and Father.
These kids have no one.
We are so privileged in America. So So privileged.
Why is it so hard for us to help those who have no one?
Speaking from experience, these children are more of a blessing to us
than we are to them.
For them, to be loved is the gift of a lifetime.
To have someone to call their own, is beyond a dream come true.
So what are we gonna do about it?
How are WE, the people who claim to Love the Lord and follow his word
going to prove that we are doers and not only hearers..
How are we going to love the least of these?
Maybe we aren't all able to father them, but we can still help.
We can love them, help those who do father them, mentor them, and show them Christ
We can love them, help those who do father them, mentor them, and show them Christ
in the truest form.
"Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this; to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."
James 1:27
Go out and make a difference today!
Your job isn't done!
