Spring Break 2014
For weeks and weeks my heart has longed for the day that I could run out of class, jump in my packed car, roll down the windows and roll up my sleeves in the sun and go home.
Spring break dreaming.
Welp, last Friday my dream was busted with reality when I woke up to inches of snow and had to scrape my car in flats and a tshirt, and then I headed home in the ice and snow and the 3 hour drive took 6. I was forced to skip all my classes and spin circles down the highway.
Needless to say, Spring Break got off to a groovy start! ;)
When I finally got home I was warmly welcomed;
I quickly vowed I wouldn't get back in the car for days.
On Saturday my sweet boy had his end of the season celebration for bball
We went to watch the Soar Dunk team from my University perform.
It was so cool, and I loved soaking up the sunshine with the cutest player in town.
After running some errands and spending the afternoon with just Mom,
we came home and had a bonfire with the boys.
We all needed S'more warmth. ;)
On Sunday morning, me and Noel headed off for the beach for the week.
After getting unpacked and settled we headed to Myrtle Beach for dinner
and a much needed trip to the biggest candy store I've seen in a long time.
The next day we were super lazy and when we finally got up and moving
we dined dockside in Wilmington and then headed to the beach for the day.
On Tuesday
we got up and headed off to the USS NC Battleship
Even after living so close for 7 years, I had never been.
Needless to say, I LOVED it.
I really think I need a mixer this big in my kitchen one day.
Maybe I should contact KitchenAid. ;)
After the Battleship, we headed back to the beach for a few more hours of sun.
after our sunshine we headed home for a night of
Redbox and face masks.
On Wednesday it was supposed to rain
{Thankfully it didn't}
so we headed to Fort Fisher Aquarium
On Thursday we had lunch at the Lake's popular seafood joint
and then went on an alligator hunt before
packing up and heading home.
It's been a great week, I'm still not admitting to myself that I must go back tomorrow.
School work and papers galore stand waiting at my door step.
So long, Spring break.
It was a good time knowing you.
On the bright side, summers in 6 weeks.
Can I get an Amen?
