Did you leave your net?

Do you ever have those times where you just can't get rid of something?

Like every time you go in public someone's talking about it
the pastor preaches on it
you read it in your quiet time
you see it on a billboard
{Okay, maybe not the billboard..}
but really

I have been praying for a semester full of a new desired
closeness and bonding with my creator.

And I've noticed that the one thing that he has made crystal clear
is that if I wanna see him move, I've got to get moving myself.

He is not gonna show up to the scene
unless I am willing to show up there too.

We get in these safe spots, the shade on a hot summers day, if you will
and we just wanna camp out, where its cool and protected.

But the Lord wants us to move out.
He wants us to pack up our camp and follow him.

To follow him, we have to go somewhere.
Just in case you were wondering.

No one ever followed their momma to the kitchen for dinner
by staying in their recliner in the living room.

I was reading about the 1st disciples in Matthew tonight
and again the Lord made sure I knew

in chapter 4:19 &20 it says
"And Jesus said to them
FOLLOW me and I will make you fishers of men.
So they LEFT their nets and followed him."

Even the 1st disciples realized that to truly seek and follow the Lord they had to leave their fishing nets, the very things that brought them income and were safe for them and all they'd ever known.

We've got to get up and get moving.
He's waiting.

So when are you gonna leave your net?

My prayer for myself and you, is that we will be so bound for the will of God that we are willing to leave everything we've ever known and move to wherever it is that allows us to serve the Lord whole heartedly and do whatever it is he asks of us.
