New Year, New Outlook.

Okay, so maybe I am 7 days late.. but better late than never right?
 
My month long break has been amazing.
Such a breathe of fresh air, and perfect to get myself together for another semester of chaos.
More on that later..
 
As I ring in the new year, a week later
I've been contemplating some things recently to help me
to be successful this year.
Spiritually, emotionally, physically, educationally, and personally.
 
I was reading through my bible the other day, and lately I have just really been distracted and overwhelmed with the chaos that is the month of December but when I sat down
The Lord brought me to Isaiah
 
In chapter 44 he is speaking to Israel and says
"I have formed you, you are my servant.
You will not be forgotten by me
I have wiped out your transgressions
like a thick cloud
And your sins like a heavy mist
 
Return to me for I have Redeemed you."
 
 
I love when the Lord speaks to me, straight through his word.
 
Even when we stray from the path of righteousness, he is always there to guide us back
 He has redeemed us, and calls us HIS; by name.
 
He will go before us and prepare the way, every time.
 
What a relief, to know that even when I fall off the beaten path
and get distracted by the chaos of this go go go world
His passion and adoration for me, doesn't change.
 
"But you are a God of forgiveness
Gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger and abounding in
Lovingkindness
and you did not forsake them."
Nehemiah 9:17
 
Remembering as I start 2014 off, to always return to him
for he has redeemed me.
 
I hope you will remind yourself of that too
You were bought with a price and you have been redeemed.

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. Waiting for graduation, waiting to know what the rest of my life is going to look like, waiting on contract updates and internship approvals, waiting on interviews, Creation studies to END (forever and ever amen), leases to run out, May to arrive and my next chapter to begin. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
