Only the thuds of people falling off top bunks..

Its super quiet around here, like an unheard of mystery..
But
 
Today was the day, where at 4am this was me:
car jam packed, running on 2 hours of sleep and super psyched for a new chapter in my life. :)

When we hit the VA line, the tears just started streaming.
The overwhelming emotions of joy and thanks and complete humility to just appreciate what God has blessed me with.
This is such a fun chapter to start, and I am diving in head over heels.

After lots of shopping for groceries and hangers and everything in between, it was time to tell my mom goodbye.
After 17 years of never leaving the same roof she was under, to watch her drive away knowing she wasnt coming back, was way too much to handle.

So thankful my grandma came along to support me and mom.
Im pretty sure that car ride home needed her ;)

After everyone was gone, i took the time to set up my stuff and make it feel like home.
And at last, i feel the rush of freedom and such maturity as i sit here knowing this is my home now.

and after falling off the top bunk, Im just going to enjoy some coke and checking emails, because thats every college kids dream. ;)

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
