Fourteen.

Fourteen years ago today my life changed forever.
this little blondie brought new meaning to my life.

She's so sweet and special in every way. She tests my limits but her love and mercy is neverending.

She has changed so much since that little baby was placed into my arms for the first time. My name is still Sissy, but instead of a baby she is a growing teenager changing each and every day. Through the millions of moments she wants nothing to do with me, that one at 5am in the morning when she asks for my advice makes up for everything.

There are many titles i adore, but Big Sister wins just about every time. She gave me the name and because of her it will stick forever.

I love you Landon Kathleen! Happy Birthday big teenager!

    OK, I have tears rolling down my face, and I don't cry!! There are very few things that even remotely compare to the love between mother and child, but the love of a sister is seated firmly beside it...ask your mama! You have the gift of beautifully wording things (I know where you get that!! Lol). What a loving way to show your love for her. See you tomorrow sweetness!! <3

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
