Sunday Snapshot.

Today was amazing. Sundays just always are.
You find the perfect outfit for church, the perfect sermon, the perfectly behaved kiddos, the perfect people to chat with, perfect lunch, perfect day at the beach, perfect people to spend time with.. You get the point. And today was no different.

Sometimes friends come in and out of your life. But when you let the one closest to you go. It doesnt make for smiles and rays of sunshine. God brings new friends into my life but i can't even begin to express how happy i was to spend my day with a very very important friend today. 4 months was just WAY too long.
and who was i to complain about a day at the beach.

it was so so nice to just talk..

attempt to tan, sand blowing in our face even.

dip our toes in the below freezing water.

talk about fun photo sessions we could have.

walk along the beach laughing at the people we saw.

make Santa Claus beards out of sea foam.

Notice how much we've missed each other, and how much we've changed.

make up for lost time.

get yelled at by crazy hotel owners.


come up with a gazillion insiders, as we ALWAYS do.

walk the pier and have shrimp thrown at us.

watch the boys fish their hearts away even after no catches.

it was just an amazing Sunday, at the beach, with my long lost best friend.

Thank you Lord for a beautiful day spent in a beautiful way. :)

Y'all. its been a while. Holy cow. I was talking with a friend this morning about life and this waiting game of a season that the Lord has me in right now. Waiting for graduation, waiting to know what the rest of my life is going to look like, waiting on contract updates and internship approvals, waiting on interviews, Creation studies to END (forever and ever amen), leases to run out, May to arrive and my next chapter to begin. He's with you. He's fighting for you, with you. Look next to you, allow yourself to sense His presence as He runs this race right beside you, pushing you on until the very end. We are Family.

All my brothers, sister and me.   A week after leaving my sweet family, they came to visit. Guess they missed me ;)   Their 24 hours here flew by but it was such a refresher and so nice after my first week back. And it makes the month before I see them again, not seem so crazy long.   My siblings and dad had never been to the campus, so we enjoyed touring around and even getting some fun filled hours at the Snowflex. The boys LOVED it. And I just loved them being here to do it with me for once. :)   It was the perfect family weekend.   Now back to those books..   Have a great week y'all! -Austyn

Plans for prosperity and hope..

This morning as Stephen and I listened to Bruno Mars' song "Marry you" and talked sweet talks of pure preciousness he drew my future family. As he drew me, blue as i'll ever be. and my sweet husband. and the bunk beds, treehouses and basements. the staircase leading to the sky and my huge house that really isnt needed.   he also drew two black kids. My Ethiopian babies! Oh how i dream of adopting from Ethiopia. And how precious that he drew them not even knowing i did want to adopt. Seriously, how precious are those little Ethiopian prince/ princess (s). Only two because "i dont want you to work too hard" Be still my heart.   -Austyn :)
